Major/Essential FunctionsPatient Evaluation & DiagnosisConducts detailed patient interviews and medical histories.Performs comprehensive physical examinations and compiles medical data.Orders and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, lab work) to identify health concerns.Clinical Procedures & TreatmentPerforms therapeutic procedures such as:Injections and immunizationsWound care and suturingInfection managementDevelops and implements patient care plans.Documents progress and supports continuity of care.Patient Education & CounselingEducates patients on treatment plans, medication adherence, and health maintenance.Provides counseling on lifestyle factors and emotional challenges related to daily living.Emergency CareProvides emergency medical services independently when necessary, including urgent diagnosis and treatment, until a physician arrives.Pay StatementCompensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at .Occasional DutiesOther duties as assigned Required QualificationsGraduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. OR Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas.
