  Job Overview   We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of AI to lead our AI initiatives and drive innovation in our product offerings.

Until now, our founders have defined the AI product and technology strategy.

With this new position, we aim to add exceptional experience and know-how to take our AI capabilities to the next level.

The Head of AI will play a critical role in developing and implementing AI strategies, ensuring that our solutions remain at the forefront of the industry.

  AI at Advertima   Our AI technology is at the core of our product, playing a crucial role in each of the following components: Capture: Using visual spatial sensors for 3D computer vision, we detect more than 25 shoppers at a time, their head pose, body pose, movement patterns, etc., in complex retail environments.

We built our architecture with privacy-by-design in mind, compliant with Swiss data protection laws, GDPR, and other global data privacy protection laws.

Segment: By leveraging 3D computer vision, sensor fusion, and various data sources (including checkout and 1st party shopper data), we predict shopper segments and intent.

This is the foundation for the success of online Retail Media, brought to the physical store.

Activate: We inject segmented shopper data into existing media monetization ecosystems via our edge and cloud APIs.

This bridges the gap between in-store and online retail media, enabling truly omnichannel retail media offerings.

AI is mainly used here to predict how many impressions the next spot on a digital screen is going to generate, while all those impressions are already segmented.

This brings the online success factor "real-time audience addressability" to the physical store.

Measure: Our AI-driven measurement tools provide upper-funnel media measurement and lower-funnel performance measurement, such as sales uplift.

This ensures privacy compliance while delivering conclusive sales uplift measurement.

Plan: By analyzing historical data, our AI predicts future audience segments, enabling impression-based campaign sales similar to online retail media.

This shifts the model from selling airtime to selling proven, effective impressions.

Responsibilities   AI Strategy Development: Define and execute the AI strategy in alignment with Advertima's business goals and vision.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the AI team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Product Innovation: Drive AI innovation across all product components, including Capture, Segment, Activate, Measure, and Plan.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and market development teams to integrate AI capabilities into our solutions.

Thought Leadership: Represent Advertima as a thought leader in AI, contributing to industry events, conferences, and publications.

Customer and Partner Engagement: Engage with key customers and partners to understand their needs and ensure our AI solutions deliver exceptional value.

Scalability and Performance: Ensure our AI infrastructure is scalable and capable of handling large-scale deployments in thousands of stores.

Qualifications   Educational Background: Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in AI and machine learning, with a proven track record of leading AI teams and projects.

Technical Skills: Expertise in 3D computer vision, sensor fusion, machine learning algorithms, and AI infrastructure.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

Startup Experience: Familiarity with startup methodologies such as lean startup and crossing the chasm, and experience in venture capital funding rounds.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in external presentations to customers, partners, and investors.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align AI initiatives with business objectives.
