OVERVIEW

Holcim announced in September 2020 the Net Zero Pledge, i.e. meet the 1.5 C target in alignment with SBTi. CO2 Capture is an important leg of this journey. We have to further develop various Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies with the objective of having 2030 economically viable solutions at industrial scale. CCUS plays an important role with more than 50 projects being worked on currently and still increasing. Holcim is not focusing on a single technology and solution; the scope is quite broad, involving several people at local, regional and corporate level. In order to develop and manage CCUS project and give best support to the countries in integrating new technologies & concepts in the cement manufacturing environment, technical activities need to be coordinated amongst various players.

WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM YOU?

  • Being the focal point of Holcim group's countries with regards to the development of CCUS in their cement plants. Coordinating the support from the group's corporate functions.

  • Developing and evaluating CCUS concepts together with countries incl. assessing appropriate capture technologies, capacities, configurations, transport modes (trains, ships, pipelines, and trucks), onshore vs offshore storage, shipping solutions, utilization concepts (fuels, plastics, mineralization, chemicals etc.)

  • Coaching and empowering project teams in the countries and regions in order to identify best local CCUS solution and to drive appropriate CCUS concepts within their CCUS projects or studies, support funding requests & follow up on performance of different CCUS projects

  • Ensuring interface to capture technology, CO2 transport & storage infrastructure incl. corresponding quality demand for downstream utilization, shipping & storage

  • Initiating discussions with key CCUS stakeholders and developing local partnerships

  • Supporting the countries in the business model establishment and presentation to the top management.

  • Coordination of various technology stakeholders at global level in the field of CCUS

  • Representing corporate CCUS team in different Holcim projects, in meetings and/or conferences, share, spread out knowledge and best practices

EXPIRIENCE

  • Technical leadership in concept development, project scoping and project evaluations

  • Experience working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environments

  • Manufacturing background in Oil & Gas, petrochemical industries or similar

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor or Master degree in engineering, preferably in Chemical Process Engineering or equivalent technical masters degree

  • Additional business certificate is a plus
