We are looking for a motivated intern in Additive Manufacturing to contribute to the development of our internal manufacturing and take the availability of service parts to a new level. Your primary objective will be to enhance manufacturing procedures, with a focus on improving the quality and efficiency of internal AM production parts for the Service Business. This position is intended to be filled at the beginning of Q1 2026 for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extending it by a further six months. Reporting to the AM Production Development Manager, you will support the team in taking our Service Factory to the next level in the field of additive manufacturing. As part of the Service Business unit, you will gain valuable insights into the design, manufacturing and servicing of turbocharging solutions for engines above 500 kW. Your responsibilities: Research and development work related to the industrialization and production ramp-up of internal additive manufacturing (PBF-LB/M) process with 316L and Ni718 materials Optimization of printing settings for 316L and Ni718 Set up in-house testing activities, develop novel testing designs, and standardize procedures Automate manufacturing workflows, ensure traceability, and improve in-process/post-process monitoring, creation of Standard Operating Procedures Your background: Bachelor/Master Student in mechanical engineering, process engineering, material science or relevant discipline with a basic understanding of production processes, manufacturing technologies and digitalization Experience and knowledge in additive manufacturing (any material) is preferable Basic knowledge in programming and CAD/CAM software (Magic, Autodesk Fusion, Netfabb, CATIA) is beneficial Excellent documentation skills are preferable High interest in problem-solving and interdisciplinary teamwork Full professional proficiency in German and English Solution-oriented, autonomous, and proactive working style.
