SCHOTT is one of the world's leading manufacturers of pharmaceutical primary packaging and analytical lab services. Our global R&D department is responsible for the development of innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

We are looking for a (Senior) Product Engineer to join our team in St. Gallen. As a key member of our innovation team, you will be responsible for developing new products and technologies, securing their intellectual property, and executing complex innovation and customer-specific projects from idea to market launch.

Your Tasks

  • You will be our innovator and product expert, developing new products and technologies, and securing their intellectual property.
  • You will execute complex innovation and customer-specific projects from idea to market launch.
  • You will be responsible for planning technical work packages and delivering them according to quality, delivery, and cost targets, in alignment with your project manager.
  • You will be an expert in polymer, glass, or rubber products and related technologies, and in the development of primary and secondary packaging.
  • You will know and understand in detail regulatory and technical customer requirements.
  • You will know and understand production processes and their impact on product functionalities and vice versa.

Your Profile

  • You have a university degree in Life Science or Engineering (medical technology, pharmaceutical engineering, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, etc.).
  • You have years of working experience in product development of medical devices or pharmaceutical packaging.
  • You have knowledge and experience with glass, rubber, or polymer products and related technologies.
  • You have knowledge of design control process, process validation, and related standards and regulations (21 CFR 820; ISO 13485; ISO 15378).
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and in German (written and spoken).
  • You have a structured working style and ability to plan and prioritize technical activities.
  • You have creativity and ability to think out of the box and generate intellectual property.
  • You have good interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
