SOPHiA GENETICS, a leading data-driven medicine company, is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer: Multimodal Data Platform Specialist to join our team in Rolle, Switzerland.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our next-generation multimodal data platform.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for building individual components and services, contributing to the overall platform architecture, and collaborating daily with senior technical staff. Your expertise will help us deliver a cutting-edge solution that brings together genomics, imaging, and clinical data, enabling data ingestion, processing, analysis, modeling, reporting, and intelligence.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop individual components and services for our core internal data platform and microservices connecting it to all corners of our business.
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff to drive new initiatives and support our fast-growing organization.
  • Participate in Level 3 Support activities, code and design reviews, estimations, risk assessments, and stakeholder communication.
  • Mentor junior team members, share best practices, and contribute to the team's processes and recurring activities.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need a Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience. You must have at least 4-6 years of experience working with distributed data, data lakes, microservice-oriented architectures, and APIs, ideally in the healthcare field. Expertise in Python ETLs, Databricks, Spark & SQL, containerization, orchestration technologies, DevOps processes, Agile, CI/CD, Unit & integration testing, and Azure data services ecosystem are essential.
