Theoretical Physics Research Fellowship

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow to join its Theory Department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in theoretical physics and a passion for research.

Qualifications

  • You must be a national of a CERN Member State or have a permit to work in Switzerland.
  • You should have a PhD in theoretical physics or a related field, with a strong research background.
  • You should have no more than 6 years of research experience after completing your PhD.
  • CERN staff members are not eligible to apply.

What We Offer

  • An employment contract for 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months.
  • A stipend ranging from 6,808 to 7,218 Swiss francs per month (net of tax).
  • Coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
  • Depending on your individual circumstances, you may be eligible for an installation grant, family, child, and infant allowances, as well as travel expenses to and from Geneva.
  • 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
