Pictet Alternative Advisors is a leading alternative investment specialist with expertise in hedge funds, private equity, global real estate, and private debt. Our Geneva- and London-based team constructs, manages, and advises on portfolios of alternative investment solutions for institutional and private clients.

With high growth ambitions for the coming years, we are looking to expand our product offering to include additional asset classes and develop our institutional client base. In view of these developments, we are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our multi-manager hedge funds team.

About the Role

As a Junior Multi Manager Hedge Funds Analyst, you will be based in our Geneva office and join an existing investment team focusing on various hedge funds strategies while gaining exposure to private debt strategies.

  • You will be actively involved in research, due diligence, and monitoring of fund investments, as well as other aspects such as marketing, operations, and monitoring of existing investments.
  • Conduct screening and research about various hedge funds strategies and develop your own sourcing network over time.
  • Conduct screening and research on public and private debt strategies, including but not limited to private debt direct lending, distressed, and special situations, specialty finance, and multi-strategy opportunistic players.
  • Support portfolio management, investment monitoring, and client reporting.
  • Help develop investment due diligence reports, monitoring reports, and other memorandums in conjunction with senior team members and clients.
  • Contribute to decision-making as part of a small and flat team.
  • Build peer group reports and expand the list of monitored underlying potential candidates across strategies.
  • Maintain systems up-to-date with new relevant information.
  • Have an active involvement in ESG scoring of underlying managers.

Your Profile

We are seeking a university degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent from a top-tier university, ideally completed with the CFA or another quantitative certification.

Two to three years of previous experience acquired within an Asset Manager in a field requiring strong quantitative and numerical skills are necessary. Prior exposure to hedge funds is an asset but not a requirement for this opportunity.

You must possess very strong analytical and logical thinking skills, along with outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

A genuine interest in financial markets is essential, as well as entrepreneurial-mindedness and creativity with the ability to work both independently and with a team.

Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office package is required, while programming skills are considered a plus.

An excellent command of English is needed, with any additional European language being an asset.

The ideal candidate resides in Switzerland or is willing to relocate.
