Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Training Specialist to join our Regional and National Development Sector. This is a fixed-term position for two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and other applicable conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of projects to establish new Intellectual Property Training Institutions (IPTIs), especially in Arab countries.
  • Organize training of trainers' programs, oversee the design and implementation of pilot skills-based programs, and review business plans prepared to guide the first years of IPTI operation.
  • Prepare responses to new requests for cooperation, assess IP education needs from requesting countries, and pre-required conditions for project implementation.
  • Support the design and monitor the implementation of cooperation projects jointly implemented with established IPTIs, particularly from Arab countries.
  • Contribute to activities organized by the IPTI network, promote the network in Arab countries, launch collective resources to address common needs of IPTIs, and provide logistical and substantive support for meetings with key contacts in Member States.
Requirements

This role requires a minimum of three years of professional experience at the national and international level, including in the field of IP education. You should have excellent written and spoken knowledge of English and Arabic. A first-level university degree in international relations, political science, law, education, social science, or another related field is also required.

Salary and Benefits

This is a P2 position, with an annual salary of $42,254 and a post adjustment of $43,590, totaling $92,844. Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations. We offer additional benefits, including medical insurance, pension fund deductions, and more.
