R&D Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Optotune. As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the production processes that drive our innovative optical products forward.
Key Responsibilities- Process Optimization: Design and optimize process flows for high yield and throughput, ensuring seamless integration with our production management environment.
- Equipment Development: Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering to develop fixtures, tooling, and equipment for prototypes and high-volume manufacturing of new products.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies of prototypes targeted for mass production in close collaboration with Product Engineering and Operations.
- Process Validation: Responsible for process validation, including capability studies, statistical process control, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of errors.
- Equipment Maintenance: Select, install, modify, and maintain process equipment, ensuring compliance with IQ, OQ, and PQ standards.
- Process Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate process documentation, ensuring seamless integration with our production management environment.
- Training and Development: Train co-workers on new processes, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing downtime.
- Travel and Collaboration: Travel up to 10% to transfer developed processes to multiple production sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.
- Education: MSc degree in microtechnology, chemistry, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience in process development, preferably in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Lean Six Sigma: Lean Six Sigma experience is an advantage, but not required.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of micro-assembly and semiconductor processing (MEMS), surface activation technologies, and optical metrology methods (Interferometer, Spectrometer, etc.).
- Statistical Analysis: Familiarity with FMEA, Gage R&R, DOE, SPC, and other statistical modeling techniques.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability: Open-minded and adaptable, with a willingness to challenge ideas and drive innovation in dynamic environments.
