Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Credit Risk team. As a Senior Credit Risk Officer, you will be responsible for analyzing credit applications, providing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with our credit policies.
Key Responsibilities- Perform in-depth analysis of credit applications, including financial analysis, business risk, structure risk, and country risk.
- Share risk appetite with account management to maintain a common risk culture and provide guidance on structuring facilities.
- Maintain an active dialogue with account management on portfolio management, client development, and upcoming proposals.
- Provide written credit opinions to local and global decision makers, highlighting key risks, mitigants, and suggestions for improvement.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of credit applications and check compliance with ING's credit policies.
- Hold an alternate decision-making mandate for reviews and applications.
- Review legal documentation in consultation with Legal and ensure post-approval follow-up and reviews/approvals of risk ratings.
- Participate in projects and deliverables, including reporting and audits.
- Masters degree in accounting, finance, economics, or international business, with a CFA preferred.
- At least 8 years of banking experience, with at least 5 years in a credit risk or similar function.
- Strong knowledge of corporate banking concepts, loan documentation, and credit analysis.
- Good knowledge of trade finance, payment and cash management, debt capital markets, financial markets, and lending products.
- Very high degree of integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Displays seniority and persuasiveness.
- Fluent in English, with French or German preferred.
- Ability to work independently and willingness to travel regularly to Geneva.
