Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Lucerne. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with hands-on experience in managing accounts payable and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for:

  • Verifying the accuracy of invoices, statements, and credits received from vendors
  • Maintaining proper documentation for payments and submitting them for signature
  • Enforcing internal controls for accounts payable to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborating with the Purchasing & Cost Controlling team to ensure proper purchasing procedures are adhered to
  • Verifying the accuracy of items received, invoice extensions, and general ledger accounts charged
  • Reporting any deviations from purchasing/receiving procedures to the Director of Finance and Purchasing Manager

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management, with relevant work experience
  • Expertise in Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale Systems (POS), and other purchasing, accounting, and reporting systems
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, which is essential for data analysis, reporting, and financial management
  • Strong organizational abilities and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
