Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Automation and Manufacturing Execution System Manager to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the technical team and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of process automation solutions using PCS/MES systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Manage and staff the technical team, including Process Automation Engineers and MES Engineers, to ensure the successful delivery of automation solutions.
  • Collaboration and Design: Collaborate with diverse teams to design, develop, and implement process automation solutions using PCS/MES systems.
  • Operations Leadership: Lead the operations of the team to ensure flawless delivery of automation solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership in complex problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide day-to-day support for the Process Automation & MES systems (DEV, VAL, PROD).
  • Sustainability and Alignment: Develop a sustainable support model that provides the appropriate service level to manufacturing and other collaborators to minimize manufacturing interruptions.
  • Change Control and Validation: Ensure alignment with Thermo Fisher Scientific procedures and practices that govern Change Control and Validation.
  • Automation Harmonization: Implement automation harmonization and standardization.
  • System Ownership: System owner of Process Automation systems & Manufacturing Execution System.
  • Engineering Expertise: Provide engineering expertise and direction to employees and contractors to meet project and support schedules and financial goals while ensuring technical success.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in process automation, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Shown experience in process automation using PCS/MES systems.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
