About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Infrastructure and Linux Architect to join our team at u-blox. As a key member of our IT leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, scalability, and retirement of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • IT Infrastructure and Architecture Strategy
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT infrastructure and architecture strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
    • Ensure that our IT infrastructure and Linux architectures are secure, reliable, and efficient.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including server administrators, support technicians, and consultants.
    • Plan, implement, and monitor IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
  • Policy and Procedure Development
    • Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with best practices and regulations.
  • Technology Evaluation and Recommendation
    • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the Infrastructure and Linux environment and the related capabilities.
  • Infrastructure and Linux Management
    • Manage and monitor the u-blox Infrastructure and the Linux architectures, ensuring the availability, reliability, and resilience.
  • Architecture Reviews and Audits
    • Lead and participate in architecture reviews, audits, and assessments, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience
    • At least 10 years of experience in Linux system administration, configuration, and management, preferably in a large and complex IT environment.
    • At least 5 years of experience in leading and managing IT teams, projects, and budgets.
  • Skills
    • Proficient in Linux operating systems, such as Red Hat, CentOS, Debian, or Ubuntu.
    • Familiar with Linux-based technologies, tools, and frameworks, such as LAMP stack, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache, NGINX, etc.
    • Knowledge of IT infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, network, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
    • Experience in cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; any other language is a plus.
