The Role: Data Management & DataOps Lead

\

You will lead a team of specialized data engineers responsible for transforming data generated by R&D into an asset for Lonza.

\

Key responsibilities include defining standards for data capture based on current and future scientific needs, ensuring standards are maintained, and evolving them according to needs and compliance with Lonza standards.

\

You will ensure data accessibility to all R&D scientists and support the development and execution of Lonza's innovation strategy while leveraging expertise with other global data management roles within Lonza.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of data engineers responsible for managing data and knowledge created by the biologics R&D unit.\
  • Supporting scientists in structuring data by creating appropriate workflows and capturing data in a centralized system.\
  • Managing and defining data standards for the R&D department.\
  • Managing a hybrid (cloud/on-prem) data storage structure with omics data.\
  • Defining and implementing methods to store and access complex and large biological datasets for bioinformatic scientists.\
  • Coordinating procedures necessary to exchange data between departments.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computational field or bioinformatics.\
  • Proven experience working with data in a cloud environment.\
  • Professional experience in data management and programming within a scientific environment.\
  • Experience in implementing and managing data infrastructure, including databases (SQL).\
  • Experience in cloud computing.\
  • Ability to interpret the needs of a team of scientists to manage their data effectively.\
  • Able to manage cross-functional relationships in large corporate structures.\

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year
