Job Title: Assistant Salon Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Salon Manager to join our team at A. Lange und Söhne. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing store operations, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet personal budgets and maximize profit while controlling costs, ensuring compliance with brand retail strategy and group procedures.
  • Regularly analyze and question missed confirmed sales with the Salon Manager to refine future sales projections.
  • Organize private viewings with potential VIPs and discuss business opportunities with the Salon Manager.
  • Act as a reference for building action plans to achieve personal targets and assist the Salon Manager in exceeding sales targets.
  • Learn and support the Salon Manager in implementing HQ commercial guidelines and achieve boutique KPIs defined by the Salon Manager and/or regional brand manager.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of monthly salon meetings and follow-up actions.
  • Analyze each salon visit with concerned sales members and build action plans for possible conversion/retention.
Team Management:
  • Act as a manager-on-duty when the Salon Manager is absent and identify training needs of team members.
  • Ensure monthly staff programs are planned and communicated to the Salon Manager and support the integration and training of new and existing team members.
  • Monitor staff appearances and behavior, ensuring compliance with company policy and boutique guidelines.
  • Provide support to the Salon Manager in coaching team members and collective objectives, via team meetings, on-the-job trainings, and feedback on expectations.
  • Organize salon team schedules and solve conflicts to ensure work equality of staff in terms of working hours and opportunities.
Store Management:
  • Ensure excellence in and out of the salon, including maximum client welcoming, handling, and servicing.
  • Demonstrate brand ambassadorial skills with partners or local dignitaries and maintain the overall appearance and maintenance of the salon in accordance with brand guidelines and concept.
  • Assist in timely salon implementation and control of new Visual Merchandizing concepts.
Store Operations Management:
  • Learn and practice compliance with Group and Brand procedures and act as a manager-on-duty when the Salon Manager is absent.
  • Actively ensure accuracy of monthly (quarterly, yearly) stocktaking and quality control, and maintain all boutique timepieces when necessary.
  • Weekly follow up with regional head office for stock replenishments and active order requests.
Financial & Cash Register Control:
  • Comply with procedures and legal, fiscal, and customs regulations, and control cash register.
Reporting:
  • Ensure timely reporting of sales (daily, monthly) in accordance with salon, brand, and sales manager.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing operations to define action plans for implementation.
Customer Experience & CRM Related Activities:
  • Support and ensure the salon team confidently delivers the Lange selling ceremony.
  • Be part of a positive atmosphere within the salon, optimistic, constructive, helpful, confident, etc.
  • Proactively participate in VIP events and orders, be considerate of our salon opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and genuine relationship building with customers.
  • Ensure attention to existing and new recruitment of VIP, customer, and prospect database for salon sales and marketing activities.
  • Individually handle client complaints and immediately report to the Salon Manager brand product-related issues.
  • Follow up and coordinate individual repairs and after-sales related matters with Sales Administrators.
Requirements:
  • Great understanding of luxury retail sales floor operations.
  • 3 years of retail management experience in the luxury industry, preferably within fine watchmaking.
  • Strong organizational skills, commercial sense, 'can-do' attitude, and proactiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team player, and ability to work well within a team.
  • At ease with digital tools, proficiency in MS Office software, and proficiency in SAP preferred.
  • Fluent in French and English, German is a plus.
