Energy Trading Expert Wanted

Repower AG, a leading energy company in Switzerland, is seeking an experienced Energy Trading Expert to join our team. As a key member of our trading desk, you will be responsible for managing our proprietary trading activities in European energy markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a well-established proprietary trading desk focused on European physical and financial energy markets.
  • Oversee a relevant origination book deriving from sales and trading counterparties.
  • Generate substantial margins from speculative activities while maximizing return on Value-at-Risk (VaR) and complying with assigned limits.
  • Foster knowledge sharing and collaboration with our Trading Desk in Milan.
  • Support our Asset Trading team and Portfolio Management with fundamental views and market insights.
  • Liaise with Risk Management and Back Office for optimizing credit risk management, cash collateral, and FX.
  • Develop ongoing knowledge and expertise in all markets where Repower AG is active and pursue new market opportunities.
  • Operational maintenance of all market access services for internal and external clients, coordination with vendors, and collaboration in the development of new trading services.
  • Participation in trading projects.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in energy trading in European markets on a proprietary basis.
  • Proven track record of achieving successful and consistent proprietary trading results.
  • Previous experience in leading trading teams as Trading Manager or Lead Trader.
  • Extensive network of contacts within European commodity trading.
  • Knowledge of a programming language such as Python is an asset.
  • Willingness to learn Italian language (and ideally German).
  • Willingness to relocate to Poschiavo, Switzerland.
