Geneva Head of Onboarding and Periodic Reviews

Our Financial Crime Compliance Department is seeking an experienced Geneva Onboarding and Periodic Reviews professional to lead the team and foster a positive culture aligned with EFG's values.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and train the Geneva team while promoting operational excellence and strong collaboration.
  • Define objectives and manage performance, including effective appraisal, skills development, and yearly goals for each team member.
  • Manage workload, assign priorities, and monitor progress of the workflow, supporting team members in addressing potential roadblocks.
  • Act as the main contact person for the local Head of Private Banking for onboarding and periodic reviews matters.
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance analysis and recommendations for account opening and risk assessments.
  • Present cases of higher risk to the Client Acceptance Committee, providing relevant risk assessments and compliance recommendations.
  • Advise and support the front office on Financial Crime Risk and agreement on the Swiss banks' code of conduct.
  • Assess clients' tax transparency risk, including FATCA and CRS forms.
  • Manage other requests, such as enquiries from other departments or third parties, transactions approval, or else.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and tools.
  • Propose process, system, and policy improvements.
  • Evaluate potentially suspicious issues and escalate to the Financial Intelligence Unit or relevant stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audits or specific projects upon request.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in compliance roles in the Financial Crime Compliance areas with strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of current sanctions regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.
  • Professional English required. Swiss National languages and any additional language a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and act with integrity.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Superior attention to detail to ensure high-quality files.
  • Strong communication skills, conflict resolution, and ability to express oneself clearly.
  • Collaborative personality and open to suggestions.
