Spanish Teacher for IB Diploma Programme

We are seeking a highly qualified Spanish Teacher to join our team at Ecolint. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Spanish Language and Literature for the IB Diploma Programme and a passion for education.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish, principally as a first language, to 13-18 year olds, including the IB Diploma Programme for Spanish A
  • Regularly assess student progress and record and report those results to parents
  • Ensure curriculum entitlement and progression is achieved for all students
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the department to develop teaching and examination resources and contribute to curriculum enrichment

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience of teaching Spanish Literature/Language & Literature for the IB Diploma Programme or equivalent
  • Knowledge of studies in Spanish Language and Literature for the IB Diploma Programme
  • A recognised secondary school teaching qualification at graduate or postgraduate level
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in language studies would be an advantage
  • Fluent Spanish speaker; working level of English or French is essential
  • A passion for teaching and learning with a drive to achieve the highest possible standards
  • A genuine interest in students, with a caring sensitive attitude towards them and to cultural variance
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good ICT skills and a knowledge of their effective use to support pedagogy
  • Commitment to self-reflection and professional development
