Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish, principally as a first language, to 13-18 year olds, including the IB Diploma Programme for Spanish A
- Regularly assess student progress and record and report those results to parents
- Ensure curriculum entitlement and progression is achieved for all students
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in the department to develop teaching and examination resources and contribute to curriculum enrichment
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience of teaching Spanish Literature/Language & Literature for the IB Diploma Programme or equivalent
- Knowledge of studies in Spanish Language and Literature for the IB Diploma Programme
- A recognised secondary school teaching qualification at graduate or postgraduate level
- Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in language studies would be an advantage
- Fluent Spanish speaker; working level of English or French is essential
- A passion for teaching and learning with a drive to achieve the highest possible standards
- A genuine interest in students, with a caring sensitive attitude towards them and to cultural variance
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good ICT skills and a knowledge of their effective use to support pedagogy
- Commitment to self-reflection and professional development
