Job Overview

As a Responsible Sourcing Adviser based in our Geneva office, you will play a critical role in strengthening our ESG Due Diligence processes for metals and energy supply chains. Your expertise will help mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Human Rights Manager to enhance our DD processes, focusing on health, safety, human and labor rights, and environmental aspects.
  • Conduct KYC on counterparties, collaborating with the Vitol compliance team to ensure seamless execution.
  • Roll out risk-based measures to monitor activities with higher potential salient risk profiles, aligning with the Vitol Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) results.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant DD laws globally and develop practical solutions for their implementation.
  • Perform on-the-ground ESG DD assessments to identify and address potential risks.
Analysis & Reporting
  • Conduct analysis of Human Rights and Environmental DD: benchmarking, interpreting results, and providing actionable insights.
  • Follow up on grievance/human rights data submitted to Vitol, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Ensure that DD processes meet regulatory reporting obligations and provide information as required.
  • Contribute to executive reporting, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Ad Hoc Support
  • Support other ESG-related projects and initiatives, leveraging your expertise to drive positive impact.
Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as Law, Human Rights, Public Policy, Sustainability, Finance, Economics, or Science.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a similar role within a mining, energy, or commodity trading firm.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize, and find pragmatic solutions.
  • An analytical mindset, quantitative skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Entrepreneurial drive, ability to work independently, and effectively collaborate within a team.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear conveyance of complex concepts.
  • Full proficiency in communicating in English in a business context.
  • International travel may be required.
Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
