OCHA is a leading institution dedicated to enhancing trade facilitation policies, laws, regulations, procedures, and technologies. As a key player in the Division for Market Development (DMD), we strive to create a more efficient and connected global trading landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to design, implement, and evaluate assigned trade facilitation projects, monitoring their development and implementation.
- Analyze specific aspects of program/project development and implementation, reviewing relevant documents and reports to identify problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with relevant parties to facilitate the development of trade facilitation projects, tracking follow-up actions and ensuring timely completion.
- Conduct basic research on selected aspects of programs, operations, and other activities, collecting, analyzing, and presenting statistical data and information gathered from diverse sources.
- Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions, reviewing emerging issues and trends, participating in evaluations or research activities, and studies.
- Assist in performing consulting assignments by planning, facilitating workshops, and developing action plans for clients to manage change.
- Participate in survey initiatives, assisting with the design of data collection tools, issuing, reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting responses, identifying problems/issues, and preparing preliminary conclusions.
- Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs, such as draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports, and inputs to publications.
- Support consultative and other meetings, conferences, proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparing background documents and presentations, handling logistics, and making presentations on assigned topics/activities.
- Participate in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support, data collection, and other tasks as required.
- Coordinate activities related to budget funding, preparing progress reports, financial statements, and related documents/reports.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An advanced university degree in business administration, management, economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in project/programme management, administration, or a related area, preferably in designing and implementing trade facilitation reforms.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with digitalizing trade formalities and experience working on trade facilitation in Central Asia is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Russian is required.
