The focus of this job is the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects and activities geared towards improving the cross-border trade environment in developing countries and transition economies through enhanced trade facilitation policies, laws, regulations, procedures, and technologies.
The Associate Programme Officer will be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned trade facilitation projects. This includes working with key clients to identify problems and issues, recommending corrective actions, and liaising with relevant parties.
Responsibilities- Works with key clients to facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned trade facilitilation projects.
- Monitors and analyzes specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
- Reviews relevant documents and reports, identifies problems and issues, and recommends corrective actions.
- Liaises with relevant parties, including government officials, private sector representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
- Carries out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations, and other activities.
- Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Assists in performing consulting assignments by planning, facilitating workshops, and developing action plans.
- An advanced university degree in business administration, management, economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in project/programme management, administration, or a related area.
- Experience in designing and implementing trade facilitation reforms is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Russian is required.
