As a Detector Physicist, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with a talented team of experts from around the world. You will contribute to the development of innovative front-end electronics for particle detectors, pushing the boundaries of human knowledge and understanding.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Electronics Integration: Explore new methods for integrating pixel-based front-end electronics with detector systems, including the use of Timepix4 and other advanced technologies.
  • Enhancing Detector Systems: Collaborate with experts in advanced manufacturing processes to integrate electronics into specialized detector technologies, such as uRWELL and Micromegas detectors.
  • Prototype Development: Contribute to the development and integration of innovative front-end electronics for tracking, triggering, and timing applications in particle detectors.
  • Performance Testing: Participate in experiments and test beams to assess the performance of detectors under real-world conditions.
  • DAQ System Support: Assist in developing and integrating Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems to effectively collect and analyze data from detectors.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Physical Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-6 years of post-graduation professional experience or up to 3 years of post-graduation professional experience with a PhD.
  • Fluent English language skills, with French language skills being an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Monthly stipend ranging between CHF 6212 and CHF 6828 per month (net of tax).
