Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IP Counsel to join our team at Optotune. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the future of optical technology.



Key Responsibilities


  • Provide expert advice on all IP-related matters
  • Support inventors in drafting invention disclosures and patent applications
  • Communicate effectively with Inventors, Management, and outside counsel
  • Prosecute patent applications with outside counsel
  • Perform prior art search and FTO search
  • Maintain and develop our internal IP database
  • Develop and execute an efficient IP strategy
  • Surveillance and management of IP costs and budgets
  • Optimize patent portfolio in view of product landscape
  • Manage IP litigation cases in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support IP licensing negotiations


Requirements


  • Degree in engineering science (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics) or related fields (preferably MSc/PhD)
  • Diploma as patent attorney is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of technological matters, particularly mechanics and optics
  • Professional and profound understanding and experience in international patent law
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German preferred
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving tasks, withstand pressure, and meet high expectations
  • Ability to work independently and possess a structured and organized personality
  • Confident appearance and strong communication skills
