Optical IP Specialist

This experienced IP Counsel (80-100% workload) will drive the future of optical technology in our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the company's point of contact for all IP-related inquiries and questions.
- Support inventors to draft invention disclosures, ensuring seamless collaboration throughout the process.
- Draft patent applications and/or outsource patent application drafting to external counsel to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with external counsel to prosecute patent applications efficiently.
- Maintain open communication between inventors, management, and outside counsel to ensure timely progress.
- Draft opinions for search reports/office actions and third-party opinions to inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct prior art searches and FTO searches to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Maintain and develop an internal IP database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Develop and execute an efficient IP strategy that aligns with business objectives.
- Manage IP costs and budgets effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Ongoing optimization of patent portfolios in view of evolving product landscapes.
- Monitor the patent landscape through IP alerts, staying ahead of competitors.
- Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to support and execute IP litigation cases effectively.
- Prioritize IP licensing negotiations to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- A degree in engineering science (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics) or related fields (preferably MSc/PhD).
- A diploma as a patent attorney is advantageous, demonstrating expertise in international patent law.
- A quick understanding of technological matters, particularly mechanics and optics, is essential for success in this role.
- A professional and profound understanding of international patent law, coupled with strong communication skills in English, is required.
- The ability to adapt to rapidly evolving tasks, withstand pressure, and meet high expectations is crucial for this position.
