Job Description

As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a crucial role in driving the evolution of our local projects portfolio related to chemical entities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our Research programs align with our priorities and are translated into tangible deliverables through excellent project management practices.

You will be based in our Innovation Center in Kemptthal and report directly to the Ingredients CoE Head - S&T Fragrances. In this exciting role, you will:

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: You will take ownership of the Givaudan Fragrance Innovation Management Process (Voltaire) and define project passports with clear deliverables and accountabilities in collaboration with the project manager, Ingredient CoE Head, and sponsor.
  • Project Management: You will work closely with department heads to monitor project progress, steer the project team, and validate decision gates. You may also lead some projects or gates within the Ingredient CoE.
  • Methodologies Evolvement: In collaboration with other portfolio managers, you will evolve project management methodologies used for managing S&T Fragrance projects. You will consolidate innovation needs in close collaboration with sales and category leaders, Research Management Committee, S&T, and Regional Technology Heads.
  • Performance Measurement: You will measure pipeline performance through relevant indicators with CoE Heads/Category Heads/Regional Technology Heads. You will also participate in the Research Products Management Committee (RPMC) and bring value-added inputs. You will collaborate with Competitive Intelligence scientists for Ingredients CoE to benchmark and prioritize projects according to the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Master/PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, biotechnologies, chemical engineering, or food technology;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the Fragrance & Flavor industry. Experience in sustainability projects is a plus;
  • Excellent project management skills, including MS Excel proficiency;
  • Familiarity with PM software tools. Project Management Certification is an asset;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills;
  • Driven and autonomous;
  • Business Fluent in English. Additional language (German, French) is an asset.
