About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Research Engineer to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading technical workstreams and developing innovative solutions that drive business growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and researchers to develop and improve methodology and evolve the technology stack.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality solutions using modern software development practices, including building, testing, and deploying scalable systems.
  • Build and maintain large-scale data processing pipelines to support machine learning algorithm development and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into production-grade software.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in AI and ML, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience, preferably in AI and ML.
  • Experience leading technical workstreams and mentoring teams.
  • Strong understanding of Python software development stacks and ecosystems, as well as experience with other programming languages and ecosystems.
  • Ability to understand, apply, integrate, and deploy machine learning capabilities and techniques into other systems.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
