About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team at Abbott. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will be responsible for leading one of our five manufacturing engineering teams and ensuring that our production and production environment are compliant with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: You will lead a team of 4-8 engineers and be responsible for their professional and disciplinary management. You will ensure that your team is future-oriented, efficient, and always one step ahead through continuous training and development.
- Guidelines and Best Practices: You will set guidelines and provide best practices for the Manufacturing Engineering Group, ensuring that internal services are sustained within assigned responsibilities.
- CAPA and Complaint Investigations: You will be responsible for corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA) in close collaboration with our local and US-based CAPA team, as well as manufacturing analysis within complaint investigations in close collaboration with our US-based complaint handling team.
- Document and Label Management: You will manage document and label changes within PLM (Windchill) and related changes in ERP System (SAP) in close collaboration with our local document control team.
- Training and Development: You will manage efficient training plans for the Manufacturing Engineering Group.
- Audit and Regulatory Support: You will support audit and other regulatory-related activities in the area of manufacturing engineering.
- Global Quality Management: You will support integrating and maintaining global quality management systems.
- Collaboration and Communication: You will foster interactions with other manufacturing engineering team leaders, production team leads, production planning, quality department, and project leaders.
About You:
- Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: More than 5 years of professional experience in leadership and corresponding further education, as well as more than 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing medical device industry or similar regulated environment.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of regulations applicable in medical technology (ISO 13485 / FDA 21CFR Part 820 / GxP), excellent skills in English, and communicative German is a plus.
- Personality and Qualities: Strong service-oriented personality, strong leadership personality with the will and ability to get things done, driving continuous improvement, and enjoying working in a team.
