At Status, we are building the tools and infrastructure for a secure, private, and open web3. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of web3 by developing a cutting-edge, decentralized group chat platform.



About the Role

About Status

Status is a blockchain-based organization that seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community. Our team is currently distributed across Europe and North America, with a focus on building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.



Status Desktop

Status Desktop is our open-source, Ethereum-based application that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access decentralized applications on the web. We are currently in beta for Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms and are looking for senior C++/QML UI developers to join our growing desktop dev team.



Key Responsibilities


  • Develop new features and enhance existing functionality in the Status Desktop application.
  • Help develop and maintain Status's QML UI component library.
  • Advise and assist other developers in the Desktop team on challenging QML UI development problems.
  • Contribute to C++ and Go codebases.
  • Be one of our experts for everything related to C++ and Qt/QML UI development.


Requirements


  • Expert-level experience implementing UIs using Qt/QML/C++.
  • A strong ability to think about components and modules as part of a larger system.
  • A very strong attention to detail and the willingness to deliver pixel-perfect UI according to designs.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • A strong alignment to our principles.


Bonus Points


  • Experience working in an open source organization.
  • A strong interest in blockchain technology and a good understanding of Ethereum.
  • Worked in a remote distributed environment that values asynchronous communication.
  • Knowledge of Go and/or Nim and/or Solidity.


Compensation

We are happy to pay in either fiat or any mix of fiat and/or crypto.
