Boehringer Ingelheim (Schweiz) GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Principal System Analyst to join our global IT team responsible for developing, supporting, and managing IT solutions for biological research and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide IT consultancy and operational support to research scientists globally, with a focus on supporting three business units in Switzerland.
- Take on a role as system analyst or system engineer for IT solutions, including system configuration, design, and development.
- Develop and maintain productive and constructive relationships with key business contacts.
- Collaborate with IT service teams, research units, and external vendors for stable support and maintenance of our IT system landscape.
- Analyze, interpret, identify trends, and address corrective actions to management.
- Design, architecture, and implementation of IT services, IT systems, or IT components following the defined BI process framework of complex systems and software in the own area.
- Lead and participate in global product/project teams.
- Provide maintenance, optimization, innovation, and 3rd level support for implemented and/or assigned solutions.
- Troubleshoot system problems that have been escalated.
- System Lead (and/or Software Lead) responsibilities for complex systems.
- Determine documentation requirements and produce documentation as required in support of baseline and project activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Computer Science/Information Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineer, or related areas, and advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience in IT support for research and development systems, especially biopharmaceutical industry.
- Working experience with at least one programming language such as Python and Java, and database technology such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle, and operation systems such as Linux and Windows.
- Experience with IT project management, certificate in project management, CPI, or Scrum is a plus.
- Fluent in English and German (oral and written).
- Work effectively and independently or as a team member, act proactively with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility, and have strong communication skills with a passion for working in a virtual, international, multicultural, and diversity environment.
