We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Consultant to join our team at unisite ag. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing expert IT consultancy and operational support to research scientists globally, with a focus on supporting three business units in Switzerland.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Providing IT consultancy and operational support to research scientists globally
  • Designing and developing IT solutions, including system configuration and development
  • Developing and maintaining productive and constructive rapport with key business contacts
  • Collaborating with IT service teams, research units, and external vendors for stable support and maintenance of our IT system landscape
  • Analysis, interpretation, identifying trends and addressing corrective actions to the management
  • Designing, architecture and implementation of IT services, IT systems or IT components following the defined BI process framework of complex systems and software in the own area
  • Leading and participation in global product/project teams
  • Providing maintenance, optimization, innovation and 3rd level support for implemented and/or assigned solutions
  • Troubleshooting system problems that have been escalated
  • System Lead (and/or Software Lead) responsibilities for complex systems
  • Determining documentation requirements and producing documentation as required in support of baseline and project activities

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, and advanced degree is a plus. Experience in IT support for research and development systems, especially in the biopharmaceutical industry, is required. Additionally, the candidate should have working experience with at least one programming language, such as Python and Java, and database technology, such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle, and operation systems, such as Linux and Windows.

The successful candidate will be fluent in English and German (oral and written) and will have strong communication skills, with a passion for working in a virtual, international, multicultural, and diversity environment.
