Accounting Team Leader Job Description

Hapa is seeking a highly capable individual to join our team as an Accounting Team Leader. As a key member of our Finance Department, you will report to the Head of Finance and be responsible for overseeing the management of our financial operations in accordance with the instructions provided by the direct line manager, management board, and legal provisions. Your primary focus will be to ensure timely reporting to the group and internal units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month and year-end closing of accounts, including accruals, provisions, and closing entries, as well as capitalization of R&D costs in accordance with the CFO.
  • Finance and accounting for Hapa, including the management of accounts according to IFRS and Swiss law for general and sub-ledgers (AR, AP, Fixed Assets).
  • Payment transactions with banks and petty cash management, as well as the preparation of cash forecasts and monitoring of outstanding bank guarantees.
  • Timely preparation of VAT returns and VAT turnover reconciliations, responsible for the VAT Know-how.
  • Monitoring of foreign currency exposure and ensuring coverage of risks with forward hedging contracts.
  • Maintaining the IKS control system.
  • Supporting interdepartmental ad-hoc projects from an accounting perspective.
  • Monthly monitoring and reporting of Opex, including forecasting and budgeting together with respective cost center responsible parties.
  • Collaborating with cost center responsible parties to ensure accurate financial planning and allocation of resources.
