We are seeking a Senior Reinsurance Actuary to join our team at Everest Global Services, Inc. in Zurich.
About the Role:
In this challenging and rewarding position, you will perform complex pricing analysis for a broad spectrum of P&C and Specialty reinsurance products, with a lead focus on Financial Risks (Credit, Surety, Political). You will also be involved in developing and pricing innovative risk transfer solutions together with clients and brokers.
As a key member of our Actuarial Pricing team, you will work closely with underwriters to analyze the profitability of our portfolio and grow our book. You will collaborate with the actuarial function in our home office and other branch offices to develop pricing tools that enhance our pricing excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing for Financial Risks and Credit Book
- Price reinsurance treaties and liaise with underwriting in support of our Financial Risks/Credit book of business, and provide pricing support to the Zurich and Global Pricing teams in other Casualty, Surety, and Property lines of business
- Liaise with underwriting and management in support of our global book of business
- Provide recommendations on changes to existing or new financial lines/credit pricing models
- Mentor, train, and develop junior and student actuaries
- Participate in client visits, broker meetings, and marketing events
- Produce presentations and reports to meet management, board, and strategy reporting needs
- Perform transactional actuarial pricing analyses, conducting lines of business studies, profitability reviews, portfolio management, and ad-hoc modeling work
- Ensure global views, consistency, and synergies through inter-office connectedness with actuaries across the group (Reserving, ERM, Capital Modeling, CAT Modeling, and Insurance Actuarial)
Requirements:
- Qualified/Nearly-qualified Actuary in a globally recognized actuarial body
- 8+ years industry experience
- Proven experience in Financial Lines/Credit actuarial pricing with a sound knowledge of other P&C lines; reinsurance a plus
- Exposure to reserving practices, CAT modeling, portfolio management, and finance/accounting
- Knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II, and capital management is an advantage
