Director of Rooms

At FIVE Zürich Switzerland, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Rooms to join our Executive Office Team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional experiences across our award-winning lifestyle destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion 'FIVE-Styled' Service: Ensure that product and service delivery meets FIVE's exacting standards.
  • Manage Operational Procedures: Elevate service quality by implementing effective operational procedures.
  • Implement Departmental Strategies: Proactively implement departmental strategies and action plans to create a bespoke guest experience.
  • Coordinate with Department Heads: Align strategies with the wider organisational vision and ensure seamless operations.
  • Set Goals and Expectations: Hold direct reports accountable for delivering next-level service in line with FIVE's visionary standards.
  • Exercise Control: Oversee payroll and operating expenses in coordination with the Hotel Manager.
  • Serve as a Visible Interface: Obtain feedback on service levels and overall satisfaction, contributing to a continuous cycle of improvement.
  • Integrate Feedback: Enhance the guest experience by integrating obtained feedback into action plans.
  • Emphasise Guest Satisfaction: Focus on continuous improvement in service delivery during departmental meetings.
  • Deliver Boundary-Breaking Customer Service: Encourage the same level of excellence from fellow 'FIVERs.'
  • Communicate Clear Messages: Ensure consistent communication regarding departmental goals.
  • Conduct Regular Progress Updates: Review adherence to FIVE's industry-leading standards with department heads.
  • Provide Operational Updates: Highlight achievements and address key issues with the Hotel Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Rooms Team: Develop and execute an operational strategy that aligns with the brand's business strategy.
  • Champion Change: Implement brand and regional business initiatives seamlessly, communicating follow-up actions to the team as necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • Recent or ongoing experience as a Director of Rooms with a luxury hospitality brand in a high-volume environment is preferred.
  • Exceptional multitasking and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Next-level organisational and leadership skills, effectively leading and inspiring the FIVE Tribe to new heights.
  • A proactive nature, coupled with a meticulous eye for detail, ensures every aspect of the operation is perfectly curated.
  • Skills in improving customer satisfaction and driving profitability, showcasing a commitment to industry-leading standards.
  • Proven track record in achieving financial targets, managing budgets, and implementing cost control measures without compromising on quality and service.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to drive revenue and manage costs effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leveraging strong verbal and written skills to engage effectively with guests, FIVE Tribe members, and stakeholders.
  • A hands-on attitude, fuelled by a 'can-do' spirit.
  • 'FIVE-Styled' visionary thinking by finding creative solutions, while taking ownership for all duties and tasks assigned.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations.
  • Excellent English and German language skills.
