Technical Operations Manager

At TN Switzerland, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Operations Manager to support our Chief Engineer in the daily running of the engine department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations related to mechanical, electrical, electronic, and environmental matters on board our ship. They will also participate in the instructions and training of all engine department officers and staff.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to ensure efficient and thorough maintenance is completed;
- Maintain regular contact with the Hotel Director and Sanitation Officer to ensure technical compliance with international sanitation requirements;
- Work closely with the Safety Officer to ensure proper maintenance and outstanding mechanical conditions of safety equipment and systems aboard the vessel;
- Be fully responsible for engine room operation and maintenance when deputising for the Chief Engineer;
- Ensure work in progress is completed according to internal standard procedures.
Requirements:
- Fluent English oral and written communication skills; any additional European language is considered an advantage;
- Master's degree or Polytechnic degree in technical ship operations;
- Certificate of Competency IMO III/2 + passenger ship familiarisation;
- Previous experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as international sanitation requirements;
- Stress tolerance;
- Excellent communication and team management skills;
- A recognised medical certification is required before starting work on board.
