The Centre for Security Studies (CSS) is a leading think tank at ETH Zurich, specialising in security and peace issues. Our work aims to enhance conflict actors' and third parties' capacity to prepare, negotiate, mediate, and implement ceasefires.
Salary and Benefits
We offer an attractive salary of approximately CHF 80,000 - 100,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension fund, and generous paid time off.
Job Description
As a Conflict Mediation Expert, you will be involved in the ceasefire mediation project at CSS ETH Zurich. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Applied research on ceasefire mediation practice
- Project management, including organising workshops with conflict actors and third parties
- Collaboration with the ceasefire team at HD
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A PhD or equivalent work experience in a relevant field
- At least five years of experience in mediation/mediation support, project management, and applied research related to ceasefires and peace mediation
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English; at least one Swiss national language is an asset
