We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Operations Specialist to join our team at Hochstrasser Personal. As a key member of our commodity trading operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transportation of iron ore from production to delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with our chartering team to arrange vessel chartering, rail, truck, and air transport, as well as the release of material in warehouse.
- Banking and Finance: Manage Letters of Credit (L/Cs) for suppliers and receivers, requesting amendments and negotiating documents for collection of payment.
- Hedging and Risk Management: Calculate metal quantities and foreign currency amounts to be priced, ensuring accurate risk management.
- Client and Field Office Communication: Correspond with clients and field offices on material availability, documentation, invoicing, payments, and client exposure control.
- Supervision and Quality Control: Provide detailed instructions for supervision companies and laboratories to ensure proper supervision and assaying.
- Insurance and Risk Management: Insure risks of each transport and material in storage, ensuring comprehensive risk management.
- Internal Tasks: Collaborate with traders on contract execution, issue profit and loss calculations, and control client exposures.
- A sound educational background in a commercial field, such as a commercial apprenticeship or bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in commodity export/logistics, ideally with a focus on iron ore.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written), with additional languages being an advantage.
- Current SWISS B/C Permit or EU/EFTA passport holder.
