Hochstrasser Personal is seeking a skilled Commodity Trading Operations Specialist to join our team in Baar/Zug, Switzerland. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to develop into a frontline operations role within the commodity business.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for all operational tasks of a contract/shipment, including supplier contract negotiation, sales contract negotiation, and final payments. They will also be responsible for vessel chartering, container shipments, and organizing rail, truck, and air transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel chartering or container shipments in co-operation with the chartering team
  • Opening of and checking of L/C's for suppliers and receivers
  • Calculation of metal quantities and foreign currency amounts to be priced
  • Correspondence on availability of material in production, transit, and in stock
  • Issuing profit and loss calculations and controlling of client exposures

Requirements:

  • A team player with an independent and flexible work attitude
  • Efficient, organized working skills and ready to adapt to international practices
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good know-how in using IT applications (MS Office, Business Objects)
  • Sound educational background (commercial apprenticeship or bachelor)
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a traffic role; ideally in a commodity trading company
  • Advanced English skills (spoken and written), further languages are of advantage
  • Current SWISS B/C Permit or passport holder of EU
