Global Medicinal Plant Production Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Production and Supply Manager to join our team at Nutreco External. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the global commercial scale production and supply of our PhytoComplexes.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our Discovery Group to assess plant material availability, cultivation prospects, and production costs.
- Work closely with our Plant Domestication Group to establish and implement production guidelines for commercial production.
- Interact with our Upstream Group to ensure timely supply of plant materials in required volumes.
- Ensure quality and cost compliance with specifications and agreed cost frames.
- Establish plant collection, cultivation, and processing procedures utilizing in-house expertise.
- Commercially propagate selected plants using in-house developed procedures.
- Extend plant production worldwide, diversifying geographically while meeting industry requirements.
- Improve production processes to elevate quality and reduce costs.
- Support and supervise contract growers, providing detailed advice on field establishment, harvesting, and processing.
- Collaborate with our Ingredient Development Group and Regulatory, Quality Assurance, and Procurement teams.
- Train staff and business partners on plant production and supply.
- PhD or master's degree in Agronomy or Horticulture, with several years of relevant work experience.
- Strong background in specialty crop production and processing.
- Hands-on experience in up-scaling and geographical diversification of plant production, as well as sustainability.
- Extensive supply chain experience, including transportation, customs, warehousing, etc.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluent in English, proficiency in German is a plus.
- High level of initiative, autonomy, reliability, and flexibility.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- A full-time position with 40 hours per week.
