Data Protection Manager

FIFA is seeking an experienced Data Protection Manager to join its Data Protection & Cybersecurity Risk Department.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work for the beautiful game and make a real impact on data privacy worldwide.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead privacy by design reviews of projects, products, events, or initiatives, incorporating data privacy principles into those initiatives.

Key tasks include providing data privacy advice to internal and external stakeholders, supporting contract negotiations, conducting legal research, and developing guidance and awareness training.

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual with strong substantive knowledge of EEA/CH/US/BR privacy and security laws.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data privacy function within a major law firm or a multinational corporation is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Privacy By Design Reviews: Conduct privacy by design reviews of projects, products, events, or initiatives, incorporating data privacy principles into those initiatives.
  • Provide Data Privacy Advice: Provide data privacy advice to internal and external stakeholders, in support of rapid-solutioning to meet identified needs.
  • Support Contract Negotiations: Support contract negotiations on an as-needed basis to review data privacy contractual provisions with partners and third-party suppliers.
  • Conduct Legal Research: Conduct or oversee legal research. Interpret and apply a risk-based assessment of how legal requirements affect new projects, products, events, or initiatives.
Requirements
  • Law Degree: A law degree is required.
  • CIPP/CIPM/CIPT Certification: CIPP/CIPM/CIPT certification is strongly desired.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a data privacy function within a major law firm or a multinational corporation.
  • Language Skills: English is required. French, Spanish, and/or German are a plus.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
