Gemstone Analysis and Development Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled intern to support the analysis and development of gemstone properties. The successful candidate will work closely with our Materials, Chemistry and Surfaces team to ensure the acquisition and processing of measurements in accordance with existing protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • To review the state-of-the-art of chemometric analysis methods and corresponding data processing (especially spectral data);
  • To conduct the chemometric analyses in accordance with existing protocols, to assess results on different use cases;
  • To capitalize on your work in the form of technical notes and share your results within the project team with periodical presentations;
  • To propose and implement upgrades to existing measurement and analysis protocols.

About You

We are looking for a Master-level engineering student with a strong experience in data science and an interest in materials and gemology. Good knowledge in French is required.

You should be familiar with spectral analysis methods, machine learning and their implementation with Python. Rigorous, methodical, with good critical thinking abilities, you are able to challenge status quo. Your sense of responsibility and autonomy will be great assets to succeed in this mission.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this internship is €600-€800 per month, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including access to training and development opportunities.
