Richemont is a leading luxury goods company that values innovation and expertise. Our Research & Innovation team is seeking a talented Data Science Intern to join our Materials, Chemistry and Surfaces department.

About the Role

We are looking for an intern to support the control of jewelry gemstones using chemometric measurements and data analyses. This role will involve reviewing state-of-the-art analysis methods, ensuring measurement acquisition and processing, conducting chemometric analyses, and sharing results within the project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review current analysis methods and propose upgrades to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Acquire and process measurements in accordance with existing protocols.
  • Conduct chemometric analyses to assess results on different use cases.
  • Capitalise on work by creating technical notes and presenting results to the project team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in data science, experience with spectral analysis methods and machine learning, and proficiency in Python. You will also possess good critical thinking skills, be rigorous and methodical, and have a strong sense of responsibility and autonomy.

Working Conditions

This internship is based mainly in Delémont at the Manufacture Varinor, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from other research sectors within our hub located in Microcity, Neuchâtel. We offer a contract type of internship agreement.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this internship is approximately €25,000 per year, based on a 6-month period and taking into account the location and industry standards.
