Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Indian Sweet and Savories Chef to join our team at New Economy GmbH. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing traditional and high-quality Indian sweets and desserts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing traditional and high-quality Indian sweets and desserts
  • Ensuring food quality and food safety, including sweet temperatures and safe refrigeration of ingredients and food allergens
  • Working with specialized cooking equipment, such as a deep fryer
  • Maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and food service areas
  • Preparing, cooking, and handling of sweets
  • Ensuring the storefront display is stocked with a wide array of visually appealing sweets
  • Any other related job duties as required in the restaurant
  • Following recipes and instructions to ensure consistency and quality
  • Measuring and weighing ingredients accurately
  • Operating and maintaining equipment used in the production process
  • Monitoring the cooking process and making adjustments as necessary
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work area and equipment
  • Packaging finished products and labeling them appropriately
  • Collaborating with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Ensuring the food quality and the presentation of the prepared dishes
  • Ensuring the prompt and speedy delivery of orders
  • Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that the standards are met
  • Taking stocks and liaising with the purchase and catering managers to ensure the adequate food items are available to produce the appropriate menu items
  • Receiving goods and supplies after checking the quality and quantity
  • Storing raw materials and ingredients and ensuring that all the food storage and preparation of all food items meet the temperature guidelines
  • Setting up and managing buffet stations with all necessary supplies
  • Informing the restaurant managers and captains about the unavailability of certain run our dishes
  • Ensuring personal hygiene and safety requirements
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking utensils, and equipment
  • Monitoring the performance of assistant chefs, kitchen helpers, and trainees
  • Ensuring that all products used for dishes are of a high standard
  • Ensuring that all health safety legislation and guidelines are implemented, adhered to, and reviewed regularly
  • Maintaining cleanliness of all areas after service
  • Responsible for preparing kitchen cleaning rosters
