Drug Discovery Expert

In this highly collaborative postdoctoral research position, you'll bridge the gap between experimentalists and data scientists within Roche Pharma Research & Early Development (pRED) and external collaborators. Your expertise in machine learning and cheminformatics will drive the development of predictive models and innovative methods for drug discovery.
The Project
- Foster a deeper understanding of machine learning applications in drug discovery, exploring novel methods for predicting drug-drug interactions (DDI) and identifying areas for process improvement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate machine learning and cheminformatics into our R&D processes, ensuring seamless integration and maximum impact.
- Develop a Python framework that can be adapted for various datasets beyond DDI prediction, enabling scalability and reusability across projects.
- Publish your findings in leading scientific journals, contributing to the advancement of machine learning in drug discovery.
About You
- You have a PhD degree in machine learning, cheminformatics, or a related field, ideally with a proven track record demonstrated through relevant publications and public GitHub repositories.
- You possess fluency in Python, proficiency in cheminformatics tools such as RDKit and OpenBabel, and deep experience in machine learning and cheminformatics.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment, able to work independently and effectively in an international team at the intersection of academia and industry.
- You communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, providing actionable recommendations and insights.
