About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Adsorption Process Developer to join our team at Climeworks. As a key member of our Adsorption Technology team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing novel adsorption process concepts for our solid sorbent based DAC technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement novel adsorption process concepts to enhance overall productivity, efficiency, and reliability of our DAC plants.
  • Lead targeted measurement campaigns to support the development and validation of our advanced modeling capabilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design experiments, validate performance, and scale-up activities.
  • Conduct techno-economic optimization studies of adsorption/desorption process design parameters.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Operations Engineering team to validate plant performance models.
  • Manage collaboration with internal and external partners to increase the fundamental understanding of our DAC process.
  • Mentor and train junior team members.
  • Generate new ideas and concepts to improve our IP portfolio and stay abreast of new technological developments in the field.
Requirements
  • PhD in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge in adsorption, thermodynamics, or separation processes.
  • At least 10 years of industrial experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in designing and testing adsorption systems and processes.
  • Experience in dynamic simulations and numerical modeling, as well as sorbent characterization methods.
  • Fluent in English, with German beneficial but not required.
