About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our team at the University of Zurich. As a System Engineer, you will play a key role in the administration and monitoring of our private OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure and provided services.

Your Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor the private OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure and provided services
  • Contribute to the continuous optimization of the existing installation
  • Develop and deploy new systems and services to support research
  • Assist researchers with their technical challenges on a regular basis

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Linux systems administration, as well as an understanding of Ethernet networking and TCP/IP. You should be comfortable automating repetitive tasks using Bash or other scripting languages or tools. Experience with version control systems such as Git and tools for automating system configuration (Ansible, Puppet, etc.) is also essential.
