About the Job:

Join DSW Inc.'s dynamic team as an Assistant Store Manager, where you will be instrumental in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will work closely with the management team to execute daily operations, from managing inventory and sales floor presentation to leading and developing our talented associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Model behavior excellence, coach associate behaviors to achieve store goals, and respond to customer requests and/or feedback with a high sense of urgency.
  • Maintain DSW store standards, ensuring customers have a positive experience and all tasks are completed related to daily open/close, including store cleaning, recovery, and maintenance standards.
  • Drive sales growth by achieving and exceeding metric-based goals, reviewing and understanding daily/weekly/monthly goals, and communicating business trends to SM/ML.
  • Lead and develop our talented associates, providing training, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or other leader.

Requirements:
  1. Minimum 2 years retail experience.
  2. Some college preferred.
  3. Excellent customer service skills, exhibiting a positive mindset and enthusiasm.
  4. Ability to manage in ambiguous situations to resolve internal and external conflict.
  5. Ability to develop collaborative working relationships.
  6. Ability to recognize what is critical and take action.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Proven ability to train, coach, develop, and motivate others.
  9. Ability to hold team accountable to time-bound expectations.
  10. Must have availability to meet the needs of the business (i.e., shifts outside traditional business hours).
  11. Proficiency in base computer use, including Microsoft Office.
