About the Role:

Bio-Rad is seeking a highly skilled Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team in Cressier. As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities are conducted in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination of import/export shipments with the Corporate Logistics and Compliance departments.
  • Perform SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) export compliance screening and set up restrictions in SAP GTS for import/export compliance concerns.
  • Manage shipments with export restrictions and manage the Global Trade Services (GTS) module of SAP.
  • Assign HTS classifications, Export Control Classification (ECCN), and request Other Government Agency (OGA) import product codes necessary for importation and assist in the country of origin determination for manufactured and purchased products imported and exported by Bio-Rad.
  • Maintain and assist with the implementation of Bio-Rad's export and import compliance procedures and work instructions.
  • Subject matter expert in one or multiple areas of the law such as HTS, ECN, Origin, Valuation, Free Trade Agreements.
  • Handle daily information requests from Customs Brokers for import clearance of products and materials, administer import/export recordkeeping requirements.
  • Support projects focused on improving business operations and processes in the EMEA region, coordinate with Customer Service and logistics to troubleshoot problem orders/shipments.
  • Audit customs brokerage and shipment transactions and files.
  • Develop presentations and effectively communicate results with recommended action plans to management.
  • Use data analysis/modeling to create new reports, troubleshoot and modify existing reports including Target KPIs, commodity indices, cost savings opportunities, etc.
  • Partner on initiatives to support the creation of new reports, metrics, and dashboards based on business needs.
  • Act as a liaison between end-users, IT, and other cross-functional teams and professionals in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of systems to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Support internal audit procedures.
  • Provide necessary compliance training to operational personnel.
  • Provide recommendations and implement improvements to trade compliance management.
  • Responsible for analyzing and interpreting export and import regulations and providing risk assessments and advice related to business activities.
  • Identify and develop business processes to address compliance risks.
  • Maintain awareness of industry and market trends through ongoing research.
