We are seeking an experienced Risk Data Migration Engineer to join our team, contributing to the migration of legacy systems by building a new, proprietary code base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the migration and replacement of legacy code base and data structures with a new, proprietary code base in T-SQL and Python
  • Replace existing legacy interfaces with a new interface using a REST API using Python in combination with T-SQL
  • Develop and extend a new and proprietary SQL schema with tables, indexes, views and stored procedures in a Risk-owned MS SQL Server 2022 for market data and Risk data
  • Structure and organize tasks in Azure DevOps to share with Risk colleagues
  • Liaise with colleagues in the Risk department regarding business requirements on models, data and functionality
  • Work closely with IT colleagues delivering two larger projects and provide them with Risk requirements about data, formats and processes

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in T-SQL, Python, R, MS SQL Server and Azure DevOps is required
  • Experience with C#, .NET and Databricks is desirable
  • Experience with migration of data, interfaces and code is desirable
  • Experience in Risk Management, Energy Trading or Banking is desirable, especially in the area of market data
  • Willingness and curiosity to extend knowledge and skills across risk management and the above languages, technologies, cloud environments, software tools are expected
  • Willingness to adapt and focus in a highly flexible and dynamic environment with an emphasis on time-to-market and data quality is expected
  • Analytical, structured and innovative approach on operational tasks as well as software design, development and deployment is expected
  • Highly motivated, self-driven and self-organized is essential
  • Fluency in English, fluency in German is of advantage

Estimated Salary: CHF 80,000 - CHF 120,000 per year (depending on location and experience)

This role reports directly to the Head of Risk Data & Analytics. The workload is 60-100% and the start date is January or February 2025. The end date is 6-12 months (plus possible extension).
