The World Intellectual Property Organization is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our team. As a Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of procurement activities.

Your primary responsibilities will include assisting requesters in defining procurement needs, reviewing Terms of Reference, and selecting appropriate sourcing methods. You will also be responsible for managing tender processes, creating, validating, and dispatching purchase orders, and monitoring contract expiration dates.

In addition, you will assist in contract negotiations and preparation, monitor supplier performance, and address procurement-related issues. You will also maintain and update procurement records in ERP and internal databases, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission of relevant reports.

To be successful as a Procurement Officer, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to apply procurement-related rules, regulations, procedures, and practices, and good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience in an area related to the role, preferably with digital procurement systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
